How we review: pricing and capabilities are read from Linear's public pricing page and documentation on the date shown, and refreshed when something material changes. We build a tool in this category and say so where it appears.

Linear review: pricing, strengths, and where it stops.

Published by AIOProductOS, the product management operating system for B2B SaaS teams. It joins customer feedback, revenue, delivery work, and code on one customer record, so teams prioritize by who is paying, not just what is loudest. Who builds it, and how we work.

What Linear does well

Best-in-class speed and craft for engineering issue tracking: a fast, keyboard-first, opinionated workflow across issues, cycles, projects, initiatives, and triage that engineering teams genuinely love using every day.

Where it breaks for revenue-driven product work

Built for engineering execution, not revenue-driven product decisions. Customer requests can attach to issues, but there is no link from feedback to account MRR, no way to rank the backlog by retention, expansion, or deal value, and no closed loop verifying adoption or revenue after a feature ships. Insights and dashboards report delivery throughput (cycle time, progress), not whether shipped work moved accounts or dollars, so the customer and revenue context that should drive prioritization stays outside the tool.

The decision

Linear vs AIOProductOS, on the questions that decide it

Question Linear AIOProductOS
Pricing shape Per seat from $10/user/mo yearly; AI metered by purchased credits Flat by tier from $199/mo; AI never credit-metered
What drives prioritization Team judgment inside cycles and triage Request count and the MRR of the accounts asking
Customer context on the work item Optional attachment; no revenue join Accounts, plan, and MRR attached by default
Post-ship outcome verdict Throughput metrics (cycle time, progress) Adoption, MRR adopted, retention per feature

Choose Linear when

Choose Linear when engineering wants the fastest, best-crafted tracker and product decisions are made elsewhere. For pure delivery flow, nothing in the category feels better.

Choose AIOProductOS when

Choose AIOProductOS when prioritization has to answer to revenue and outcomes: the same record joins the request, the paying account, the work, and what happened after ship. Linear can stay for delivery via connector; the join lives on the spine.

FAQ

Linear pricing and fit, answered

How much does Linear cost?

As of August 2026, Linear's Basic plan is $10 per user per month billed yearly, Business is $16, and Enterprise is quote-based with annual billing only. The free tier is real: unlimited members, 2 teams, and 250 issues. AI and agent workflows meter separately through purchased AI credits on top of any plan.

Does Linear connect issues to customer revenue?

No. Customer requests can be attached to issues, and Business-tier integrations pull in Zendesk and Intercom conversations, but nothing joins an issue to the requesting account's MRR or ARR. Ranking the backlog by revenue at stake, churn risk, or expansion potential requires doing that join in another system.

When is Linear the wrong choice?

When the team needs prioritization grounded in account revenue or verification that shipped features moved adoption and retention. Linear measures delivery throughput, not customer outcomes. It is also per-seat with separately metered AI, so costs scale with headcount and AI usage rather than staying flat.
